AUTOMATED SCREENING SERVICES COMPANY: BIOBIDE

Biobide was founded in June 2005 in order to resolve the main problem acing that contemporary biotechnological and pharmaceutical companieswere facing: how to deal with the low success rate in marketing new drugs.

Biobide is integrated with institutional and industrial partners.

• Institutional partners: Gobierno Vasco and Diputación Foral de Guipúzcoa.
• Industrial Partners: Genetrix Group (the ideal biotechnological partner) and the MCC Group (an important industrial cluster with a strategy of promoting new health activities).

We also have the collaboration of Dr. Juan Carlos Izpisúa, a scientist of international prestige, who acts as President of the Scientific Advisory Committee, experienced in the use of zebrafish as an animal model in biomedical research.

Biobide offers a marked improvement in the success rate of new drug research and development through its own quick, efficient and reliable screening system, providing substantially more / better information about potential drugs.

In order to resolve the success rate problem, the company follows two lines of work:

• Early detection of any adverse effects for ‘in vivo’ compound libraries, found in zebrafish (Danio rerio).
• Early detection of therapeutic effect of compounds in a given area of the ‘in vivo’ zebrafish (Danio rerio) animal model.
