Curriculum Vitae: Dr. Juan Carlos Izpisúa

Licenciado (con honores) en Farmacología, y Doctor en Bioquímica y Farmacología. Cuenta con dos postdoctorados, el primero realizado en la Universidad de Marburg, Alemania y el segundo en European Molecular Biology Laboratories (EMBL), Alemania.
En 1993 empezó a trabajar como profesor ayudante en el Salk Institute de California (San Diego), siendo en la actualidad profesor de este centro, donde dirige un laboratorio de gran prestigio por los trabajos realizados con el modelo animal de pez cebra (Danio rerio).
A lo largo de su vida ha recibido diversos premios por su gran trayectoria profesional como el National Science Foundation Creativity Award (1999), el American Heart Association Established Investigation Award (2000) o la Medalla del Spanish College of Pharmacy (2006).
Actualmente forma parte del Comité Científico Asesor editorial de varias revistas, como BMC Developmental Biology, Development, Developmental Biology, Development Genes & Evolution, Development Growth and Differentiation, International Journal of Developmental Biology y Mechanisms of Development.
Desde 2004 es el Director del Centro de Medicina Regenerativa de Barcelona, y el Presidente del Consejo Científico Asesor de Biobide.
