"The first theoretical-practical course "Handling and applications of zebrafish as animal model"

The first theoretical-practical course "Handling and Applications of zebrafish as animal model" (2 credits) will take place the days 23 and 24 of November 2009 in the University of the Basque Country, Leioa Campus.
The theoretical classes will be given in the seminar of Biology and the practical classes in the Unit of Experimentation in Aquatic Biology and in the laboratories of practices of the Faculty.
The course is organized by Darenet Platform to spread and promote zebrafish as animal model in research.
Carles Callol, the Director of the Scientific Department of Biobide S.L., who will participate as speaker,will talk about "High Throughput Screening in Zebrafish".
In the course, only 20 participants will be accepted. It is meant for students of master or doctorate, postdoctorate researchers and people interested in the use of zebrafish in different areas of biomedical research like Celular Biology and the Development of Neurosciences, Biotechnology, Toxicology, Food,etc.
During the same week the days 25 and 26 of November 2009 will take place in Bilbao, Spain, the International Congress "1st Meeting on Emerging Technologies in Zebrafish".
