TAILOR MADE SOLUTIONS THROUGH ZEBRAFISH IN EARLY DRUG DISCOVERY AND DEVELOPMENT

Biobide was founded in June 2005 in order to resolve the main problem that contemporary biotechnological and pharmaceutical companies were facing: how to deal with the low success rate in marketing new drugs and block busters.

Biobide is a private company with a mixture of private and public funding:

Biobide also have the collaboration of Juan Carlos Izpisúa Belmonte, Ph. D., a scientist of international standing, President of the Scientific Advisory Committee of Biobide, with extensive experience in the use of zebrafish as an animal model in biomedical research.

Biobide offers a marked improvement in the success rate of new drug research and development through its own quick, efficient and reliable screening system, providing substantially more / better early on potential new drug candidates through:

  • Early detection of adverse effects ‘in vivo’ in the zebrafish (Danio rerio) embryos.

  • Early detection of therapeutic effects of drug candidates ‘in vivo’ in the zebrafish (Danio rerio) models.
